PardOn mY 'MakuLitneSs'. .

CJ, the why-why girl cousin of mine, arrived home one time with her mom. They came from neighboring town where my aunt hails and stayed there overnight. Upon seeing me, she blurted out, "Ate, kamustahin mo naman ako!" Taking from her I said, "Kumusta ka na, CJ?" Expecting her answer was "Mabuti naman po." Then off she went inside their room. Few moments after she came out, thinking she was still in a playful mood, I asked "Kumusta ka na, CJ?" To which she answered, "Sinabi ko na nga mabuti, e...ang kulit mo naman!"

whO is nUmber oNe?

My cousins & my siblings call my granny 'Mama One'. Obviously, she's the number one Mama because she's the family matriarch. She doesn't want us to call her 'lola','apong' or 'bai' as we're accustomed to addressing the old woman or old ladies in the neighborhood depending on the spoken dialect. To distinguish her title from our real 'mamas', we made it a point to add 'One' after Mama whenever we greet or talk to her.

Although Mama One has lost her eyesight over the years, I owe her much where I am now because she's always there for me. She's the one I turn to and make 'lambing' with whatever my mood is because she's taken over the presence of my mother who has left home to work abroad.

I am fortunate to have built a very close relationship with Mama One because I know that other friends of mine may not have seen their grandparents alive or may have lived separately from their grandparents. My Mama One & I share one big room and sleep in one bed.

At night time, before going to bed, I help Mama One with her rituals: put toothpaste on her toothbrush, heat the water and ready the washroom for her night wash and lastly, put eye drops to sooth her eyes.

Well, if she's my Mama One, I'm also her Number One favorite grandchild. :-)

The JANA company. .

Back in my old school, we were a group of four and called ourselves as JANA because we got this from our initials...hehe. I am still in touch with my old friends and we plan that if we decide to form a company in the future, we'll call it "The JANA company"

THE WHY-WHY-GIRL

Overheard my three-year old cousin talking to our granny (she was then four months old in this pix):

CJ: Ma, BAKIT ikaw may baston? (Ma, WHY do you have walking stick?)

Ma: Dahil di ako makalakad na wala ito. (Because I cannot walk without it.)

CJ: BAKIT di ka makalakad na wala yan? (WHY can’t you walk without that?)

MA: Dahil di ko makita kung saan ako tutungo. (Because I can’t see where I'm going.)

CJ: BAKIT di mo makita daan mo? (WHY can’t you see your way?)

MA: Dahil bulag ako. (Because I’m blind.)

CJ: BAKIT ikaw bulag? (WHY are you blind?)

MA: Inalis ang mata ko dahil masakit na masakit. (My eyes were removed because I feel so much pain.)

CJ: Ay, BAKIT masakit? (Ay, WHY painful?)

MA: Dami mong tanong, bata ka! (You ask so many questions, little girl!)

CJ: Wawa ka naman. Ingat ka Mama, ha. (What a pity you are. Take care Mama, ok.) And off she went out to meet my uncle…"Papa, BAKIT ngayon ka lang dumating? (Papa, WHY came only now?)"

The Da Vinci Code

I've read the book before it was planned of turning it into a movie. It was a fiction alright but interestingly, if you read the "FACT" page, you will agree that the novel can claim historical facts because the documents, rituals, organization, artwork and architecture that were presented all EXIST.The "FACT" page, however, did not refer or made no statement whatsoever about any of the ancient theories discussed by the fictional characters so it is up to the readers to interpret those ideas.

I don't believe that Jesus Christ ever married before he was crucified bit I believe on the facts that negate what Catholics and other Christian denominations believe regarding His divinity.

Dan Brown made mentioned of the council of Nicaea in AD 325 which made history as the first ecumenical or worldwide conference of the bishops and/or church leaders in the Christian world. The purpose of the council was to resolve the disagreements in the church of Alexandria over the nature of Jesus Christ whether He was of the same or similar substance as God and Father. It was in this council that the belief in Jesus Christ as God was made an official doctrine, meaning that before the fourth century, there is only one belief that the Father is the ONLY true God and that Jesus Christ was never a God.
